“Life is Precious Jewel,” oil on canvas, 124 x 36 cm, with painted edges on 1.5-inch thick stretcher bars, is a deeply personal and evocative piece. A few years ago, I created a painting with the same name and gifted it to a dear friend who was nearing the end of his life. I was told that it was likely the last thing he saw before he passed away.
