Oil on canvas, 76 x 76 cm (30 x 30 inches)
Galaxy of Hope is one of the first artworks I completed and signed in 2025, carrying forward a tradition I have cherished for over 25 years. Each year, I create a painting during the transition between two years, infusing it with hope, reflection, and intention for the journey ahead.
On the first day of 2025, this piece came to life during a live painting demonstration at the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Auckland. Interestingly, this painting began as a demo over a month earlier, but it didn’t feel complete. Something essential was missing, and I made the bold decision to paint over it, allowing the canvas to transform into something entirely new.
During the live demo, one of the attendees remarked that the painting resembled a galaxy. Her description resonated deeply with me, as the piece embodies a sense of vastness, wonder, and hope—a symbolic reminder of the infinite possibilities and beauty the new year holds.
Prayer for Peace 2025 embodies my heartfelt wish for a peaceful and harmonious world. Its composition and colors invite calmness and introspection, making it a symbolic beginning for the year. The champagne silver frame enhances its elegance, serving as a perfect complement to the meditative energy within the artwork.
May this painting inspire serenity and goodwill as it shares its message of peace for the year to come.
